Questions about DeskCapsule
Short answers about the licence, updates, working offline and uninstalling.
Where do I enter the key after buying?
Settings, the Licence tab, paste the key and press “Activate Pro”. The key arrives by email from SOVREST. One licence covers several computers: how many depends on the tariff, and you can see them all under “My devices”.
What happens when the licence ends?
The three cloud channels stop: AI translation, AI chat and cloud speech recognition. Everything else, meaning clipboard, screenshots, notes, media, layout and local voice input, keeps working exactly as before. Nothing you saved goes away.
Does DeskCapsule work offline?
Yes. The licence is verified locally against an embedded key and refreshed roughly every six days, so losing the network does not switch Pro off. The cloud channels naturally need a connection; nothing local does.
How is the portable version different?
Only in how it gets onto the disk. Settings, notes and history live in your Windows profile in both cases rather than beside the program: a USB stick carries the program, not its data.
How do DeskCapsule updates work?
The application tells you when a new version is out and gives you the link. SOVREST stores and serves the files. The installer runs over the previous version, so there is no need to uninstall first. The portable build is simply unpacked again.
Does DeskCapsule start on its own when I turn the computer on?
Yes, if you leave the box on the installer page ticked. It is ticked by default, because the capsule answers a hot key and a program that is not running answers nothing. You can untick it right there, or at any time afterwards in Settings. The portable build never writes an autostart entry at all.
What does uninstalling remove?
The program and the autostart entry always go. About notes, clipboard history, screenshots and downloaded models the uninstaller asks, and deletes them by default, so answer No if you plan to install again. The licence is kept either way: reinstalling needs no reactivation and will not use a second of your three device slots.
